Grease or spray with oil a large glass casserole dish. Set aside.
Melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the marshmallows and stir until they are also melted. Remove from heat and add the rice krispies.
Quickly move the rice krispies mixture to the greased dish. Use wax paper or cling wrap to push them down firmly. Let cool about half an hour, then cut into bars. If you are not going to eat them immediately, wrap each one individually with cling wrap and then put in a sealed plastic container.
If you don't have mini marshmallows, cut full size marshmallows into quarters as a substitute.
