Suggest a better descriptionDissolve yeast and sugar in warm water; let stand for 5 min. Mix salt and flour together in large bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender until it looks like cornmeal. Add eggs and yeast mixture to flour. Mix lightly with a fork. Shape the dough into a ball, place in bowl, cover with plastic wrap and foil, and refrigerate 1-3 hrs. (It rises very little.) Make the filling.
Divide dough into 2 parts. On lightly floured surface, roll out a half into a 12x10” rectangle. Sprinkle half with filling over dough. Start with longer side and roll up. Pinch edges and ends to seal. Place on greased cookie sheet, seam side down. Repeat with other half of dough. Use very sharp knife and make 5 slashes across each cake. Bake at 325° for 20-25 min. Remove from sheet to cool.
Servings: 2 cakes.
