Preheat oven to 350o . Cream together shortening, butter and sugar.. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Combine milk & vanilla. Alternately add dry & wet ingredients to creamed mixture. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter. Bake in greased & floured pans for 30-35 minutes.
Use with Mock Whipped Cream Frosting.
