Like a rice pudding. A Norwegian Christmas dish eaten around Slåttegraut traditionally made from left over rice porridge with some other ingredients added. We don't generally eat rice porridge where we live, so we have a recipe for for riskrem by itself.

Let the milk come to a boil.
Add rice and boil about 1/2 hour.
Stir well so it doesn't stick to the pan.
Remove and add butter and sugar.
Let it cool.
Refrigerate to set.
Before serving add whipped cream.
Flavor with 1 tsp. vanilla.
