Suggest a better descriptionFor Peaches: combine all ingredients and toss with peaches. This can be done several hours in advance.
For French Toast: combine everything except the bourbon. Put aside until ready to use.
For caramel: Put sugar in heavy duty sauce pan with enough water to make it like wet sand. Brush the sides of the pan with water to remove residual sugar. Cook over high heat without disturbing until sugar is color of brewed tea. Slowly add cream. Add butter and bourbon. Can be made days in advance and warmed just before serving.
For Bacon: Preheat oven to 375. Place bacon on sheet pan and sprinkle with sugar mixture. Bake until crispy. Set aside until ready to serve.
To serve: prepare grill or broiler for peaches. Cook just to get a little char on them, but don't let them get mushy.
Add shot of bourbon to the custard and soak cornbread until the mixture is absorbed. Melt a little butter in a pan over medium heat. Place the bread slices in the pan and cook for about three to four minutes on each side. They should be golden on outside and hot throughout.
Place French toast on a plate and arrange some of the peaches around it. Crumble some of the bacon top and drizzle with the bourbon caramel sauce. To French toast with ice cream. Vanilla will work, but butter pecan is the best.
