Great
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
2. Place the butter, sugar, cardamom in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar has melted. Place the pears cut side down in a roasting pan and then pour the butter/sugar over them. Sprinkle the pecans over the top and then roast the pears for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
3. Serve one pear per person on small plates. Place a piece of stilton on the top of each pear and let it melt just a little just before you serve it.
