I use this to top off my Pina Colada Waffles.
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Add sugar and rum and whisk until the sugar is dissolved. Cook, whisking occasionally until the sauce has thickened (5 to 7 minutes)
Add the vanilla and salt and cook an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
