Preheat oven to 175 degrees.
Cream together butter and vanilla until smooth. Combine the sugar and flour and mix into the butter. Add the walnuts.
Roll into 1/2 inch balls. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet 2" apart. Bake 12 minutes. Cool.
Roll in 1/3 C confectioner's sugar.
