Combine broth, brown sugar, lime juice, soy sauce, fish sauce and garlic; mix well. Heat on medium-high for 3 minutes, then reduce to low.
Sprinkle salmon with salt and pepper. Heat oil in pan and cook 4 minutes on each side.
Drain fat from pan and discard. Add broth mixture, scraping pan to loosen browned bits. Bring to a boil for about 30 seconds. Remove from heat. serve sauce over fish.
