Line a 9 x 13 baking pan with foil. Spray with non stick spray
Arrange saltines in a single layer on the bottom on the pan. Break crackers in half in necessary to fit around the edges.
Place butter in a medium heavy sauce pan and melt over medium heat. Once melted, add sugar and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Boil 3 - 4 minutes. or until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, and immediately pour evenly over the crackers.
Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until bubbling. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over mixture. Allow the chips to soften for 3 - 5 minutes and spread chocolate over the toffee evenly. Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
Cool at room temperature for 15 - 30 minutes. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
