Slice the baguette lengthwise so that it can be folded open but is not separated.
Slice the fresh mozzarella and the tomatoes.
Assemble the sandwich by adding basil leaves, then tomatoes, then sprinkling with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and then adding the fresh mozzarella. Can also sprinkle balsamic vinegar along with the olive oil.
One variation is to use arugula instead of or in addition to basil.
