Very tasty and hardy winter soup
Rinse lentils a put in a large heat proof bowl. Cover with boiling water and let stand 15 minutes.
Using a large pot or dutch oven, place over medium heat, add olive oil, when hot add onions and leeks, sauté for 10 minutes add garlic, thyme, cumin salt and pepper, cook an additional 10 minutes.
Add celery and carrots, sauté for 10 minutes. Add chicken broth, tomato paste and drained lentils. Cover and bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer uncovered for 1 hour, lentils should be tender. Add Kielbasa and red wine, simmer until kielbasa is headed through.
