Fast easy week-night dinner. Almost as simple as heating jar sauce but so much better tasting.
Cook Italian sausage according to package directions.
In a separate skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and cook briefly, about 1 minute. Add tomatoes and their juices, red pepper, oregano, salt and sugar. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer until the sauce is slightly thickened, about 20 minutes. Add sausage to sauce, then serve over hot spaghetti. If the sauce gets too thick, thin with a splash of red wine, or some of the pasta water.
