Place bread slices in greased 13x9 baking dish and set aside.
Cook sausage until browned, stirring to crumble. Drain well. Spoon over bread; sprinkle with cheese.
Combine eggs, half & half, and salt; mix well. Pour over cheese. (It will soak down into the bread; this is normal.)
Cover and chill over night.
Remove from refrigerator 15 minutes before baking. Bake uncovered at 350 for 45 minutes or until set.
Let it set up some before serving.
