Another great appetizer for parties. A little tedious to make, but it's well worth it -- they are so good!
Preheat oven to 400? & spray pan with nonstick spray.
Cook sausage and drain -- set aside.
Remove stems and chop. Place stems in a papertowel and squeeze to remove water. In a skillet, heat 1 1/2 tablespoons of butter. Cook the stems and onion until soft. Add the lemon juice, basil, salt and pepper. Cook until almost all liquid has evaporated. Cool. Combine mushroom mixture with sausage and parsley. Stuff into caps. Combine crumbs and cheese, and sprinkle over the mushrooms. Dot each with remaining butter. Place in a greased pan and bake 20 minutes. Baste occasionally with pan juices.
