Heat a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium heat for 1 minute. Working in batches if necessary, add the patties and cook for 5 minutes on each side, or until a thermometer inserted in the center of a patty registers 165°F and the meat is no longer pink. After first side is done, add cheese.
