Suggest a better descriptionMelt butter and onions together, add 1/4 cup flour, slowly
Add 2 1/2 cups of milk
1 1/2 tsp salt (less if adding ham)
1/8 tsp pepper
Use whisk to get the flour to mix into milk
Cook & stir until bubbly
Cook 1-2 mins more
Slice 5 cups of potatoes, layer half of them in baking dish & pour 1/2 of the white sauce on them
Put ham on this then the other half of your potatoes & pour the rest of the white sauce on top
Bake, covered, @350 for 45 mins
Stir once, uncover & bake 30 more mins
