Suggest a better descriptionPreheat the oven to 250 degrees. Line two sheet pans with parchment paper. Trace six 3" circles on each paper, flip the paper over
Beat eggs whites at medium-high speed in a mixer with water and salt until the mixture begins to thicken with stiff peaks
Continue beating and very slowly incorporate 1 cup sugar, cream of tartar, and vinegar
Add the other 1 1/4 cups of sugar, again, very slowly, as well as vanilla. Beat for 10 minutes at medium speed
Drop yellow portion scoopfuls of meringue onto the circles on prepared sheet pans and hollow out the centers
Use a finger to make the top look rustic
THEN
Place in preheated oven and bake 1hr. Turn off the heat and leave in the oven for 30 more minutes
Remove and store in an airtight container, or serve with fresh berries or ice cream
