Combine dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add melted butter, milk and egg; mix just until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in raisins.
Shape dough to form a ball; pat out on lightly floured surface to an 8" circle. Cut into 8 wedges.
Bake on greased cookie sheet in preheated oven (425 F) for 12-15 minutes.
Serve warm with butter, preserves or honey.
