1 c butter
2 tsp lard
3/4 c icing sugar
2 c flour
Mix all ingredients together well Nd chill dough in fridge. Roll into small balls, flatten with a fork, decorate with chopped candied cherries. Bake at 300 F for 20-25 minutes till very lightly browned. Makes 30 delicious cookies. My grandmother was from Walkerton, a hamlet near, Leslie ,Fifeshire . She came to Canada with her family in 1886, aged 18. She never forgot her Scottish roots.
