Few foods are as versatile and personalized as pizza. You can literally have it anyway you like, and we decided to top our easy sheet pan pizza with homemade chicken sausage, robust fennel, and crisp apples.
1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
2.Coat the bottom of a rimmed sheet pan with 1 tablespoon of oil. Use your hands to spread the pizza dough onto the sheet pan. Set aside.
3.Prepare the white pizza sauce by pouring the ΒΌ cup of olive oil into a small bowl. Mix in the minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, oregano, rosemary, red pepper flakes, salt, and ground black pepper. Set aside.
4.Prepare the chicken sausage by placing the meat into a medium mixing bowl. Add the garlic, basil, oregano, paprika, fennel seeds, onion powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and ground black pepper to the chicken and mix to combine.
5.Heat 2 teaspoons of olive oil in a skillet set over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned ground chicken to the pan and use a spoon to break the meat into crumbles. Cook until browned and no pink remains, about 8 minutes. Remove from heat.
6.Assemble the pizza by spreading the white sauce across the top of the crust. Top with chicken sausage, sliced fennel, sliced red onion, apple slices, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
7.Bake the pizza for 12 to 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust is crisp and golden.
8.Remove from the oven and let cook for 5 minutes. Slice the pizza into 8 pieces.
