Ground sirloin with black beans makes a hearty combination suitable to eat with a fork. great with rice or cornbread.
Heat 1 tsp oil in a heavy dutch oven. Add beef and brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove to a bowl, salt and set aside.
Drain pot and add the remaining 2 tsp of oil. Add onion and saute until soft. Add garlic and saute 1 minute more. Add spices and cook 1 more minute.
Add broth, beef, tomatoes, tomato paste and honey. Reduce heat to Med-Low and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
About 5 or so minutes before serving, add black beans and lime juice. Cook 5 minutes.
