1) Combine all ingredients for Basic Salsa in Cuisinart (cutting blade) and chop until smooth (1 minute or so)
2) Simmer ingredients until thickened (2 Hours)
Note: this makes a great, warm dipping salsa without modification
FOR BLACK BEAN AND CORN SALSA

Allow Basic Salsa to cool prior to making Black Bean and Corn variation.
Combine all Black Bean and Corn Salsa ingredients and add Basic Salsa (~2 cups) to achive desire consistency
Stir well and refrigerate overnight or longer
I''ve tried many recipes and this is my favorite by far. Cooking the Basic Salsa makes all the difference.
Once the Basic Salsa is made the recipe only takes about 20 minutes.
I also have a scratch recipe for the basic salsa if there is any interest.
