Caramelized onion and potatoes come together in a rich cream sauce topped with Cheddar cheese for the perfect, cheesy side dish your family will rave about.
1. Heat a sauté pan on medium heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Add the onions and cook until they are caramelized or browned, stirring occasionally. Cook time for onions is about 15 minutes.
2. Line the bottom of the crock pot with the caramelized onions.
3. Thinly slice the potatoes and layer in the slow cooker.
4. Pour the cream evenly over the top of the potatoes and season with salt and pepper.
5. Top with shredded Cheddar cheese.
6. Cook on high for 2 hours. After 2 hours, turn to warm until ready to serve.
