Suggest a better descriptionNote that you may use any kind of premade dough that you like, including french bread, crescent rolls, biscuits, pizza crust, etc. You may also use whatever amount or size package you prefer, depending on the ratio of dumplings you want. Anywhere from 4 -10 ounces will work well.
Place the chicken, butter, soup, and onion in a slow cooker. Cover with either a can of chicken broth or a can of milk.
Cover, and cook for 5 to 6 hours on High. About 30 minutes before serving, place the torn dough in the slow cooker. Cook until the dough is no longer raw in the center.
