Set slow cooker to high. Place all ingredients in slow cooker, cover and stir.
Brown meat. Drain.
Add meat to slow cooker and cover, cook for 3-4 hours on high. Or 6 on low.

When done browning meat, use the same skillet to sauté fresh tomatoes for 5-6 minutes. Deglaze pan with Marsala wine, 2 min or so. Add garlic, sauté 1 more minute. Add everything to slow cooker.
Add remaining optional ingredients, stir well, cover and cook 3-4 on high or 6 on low.
