Cook's Notes: Can substitute a homemade onion soup mix using 3 tablespoons of dried onion flakes, 1 tablespoon of beef base (like Better than Bouillon) or 2 tablespoons of granular beef bouillon, 2 teaspoons of onion powder and 1/4 teaspoon of seasoned salt (like Lawry's). I will definitely be making this again and next round I plan to use the homemade onion soup seasonings along with some sauteed onion with bacon and maybe even add in a packet of Sazon seasoning too, so add in your own favorite pinto bean seasonings. You can also shred the meat and stir it back into the beans, however, the meat will take up most all of the juice from the beans.
