Suggest a better description1. Trim fat from meat. If necessary, cut meat to fit 3.5-4 quart slow cooker. Season meat with salt and pepper. In a small bowl stir rest of ingredients together, minus bbq sauce, and pour over meat.
2. Cover and cook 8-10 hours on low setting or 4-5 hours on high.
3. Remove meat from cooker. Discard liquid. Use 2 forks to pull apart meat, discarding the fat, and return to cooker. Stir in BBQ sauce and cook on high for 30-45 minutes.
Homemade BBQ sauce:
In a medium sauce pan combine 2.5 cups ketchup; 1 cup finely chopped onion; 1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar; 3 tablespoons cider vinegar; 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce; 3 cloves minced garlic; 1/4 teaspoon bottled hot pepper sauce. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat. Cover and simmer 15 minutes. Use immediately or cool and store.
