Todays offering is a rich little appetizer from Recipe-a-Day Member Rachel B. A good appetizer sets the tone for an entire meal. Todays recipe is perfect for a casual get-together of moderate size. It goes well with a glass of wine and good conversation; but then, nearly anything does! In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and salt with an electric hand mixer until thoroughly combined. The longer you beat cream cheese, the creamier and smoother it gets, so spend about 5 minutes mixing the base ingredients. Spoon out about half of cream cheese mixture onto a sheet of wax paper. Form it into a rectangle approximately 2 or 3 inches wide and 5 inches long. Mound chopped smoked oysters on top. Cover the smoked oysters with remaining cream cheese mixture. Shape the rectangle to form a log, using the sides of wax paper to roll the mixture. Wrap in the same wax paper and refrigerate at least 2 hours prior to serving, or until firm. Unroll wax paper and place cream cheese and oyster log on a serving platter along with crackers of your choice. Posted to dailyrecipe@recipe-a-day.com by Recipe-a-Day
