This was my Grandma's recipe - love it! She was a 'real' baker, the kind that didn't need a recipe or directions :)
did modify to add the almond that she didnt use
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Mix together shortening, sugar, eggs and almond flavoring until smooth. Add dry ingredients.
Roll into walnut size balls (I like to use a cookie scoop)
Roll balls into sugar/cinnamon mixture until coated.
Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Use colored sugar for coating at holidays. Sometimes the bottom burns b/c of the cinnamon sugar, best to use wax paper or parchment paper.
