Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and mix till blended well.
In a separate bowl mix together cream of tartar, baking soda, flour, salt and vanilla. Add dry ingredients to wet ones. Blend till combined. Bake at 350 until done/soft.
