Fill a medium saucepan about halfway with water and bring to a boil.
Once water is boiling, gently place eggs in water one at a time using a large spoon. Set your timer for 6 minutes.
While your eggs are cooking, place one tablespoon of butter in a microwave safe bowl and microwave until melted, about 20 seconds.
When the timer goes off, take the saucepan (don't forget to turn the stove off!) and carefully pour out the hot water, being careful not to let the eggs fall out. Run cold water over the eggs to stop the cooking process.
Carefully peel each egg, rinse to to remove any shell fragments, and place gently in the melted butter.
Add the thyme leaves as well as salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy immediately.
