Suggest a better descriptionPreheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine raisins and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil.
Cook for 3 minutes; remove from heat and cool (do not drain).
In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Combine dry ingredients; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well.
Stir in nuts and raisins (with liquid).
Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet (or on parchment paper).
Bake for 12 - 14 minutes.
Makes 6 dozen cookies.
