Pre -heat oven to 175 degrees C
Mix butter and both sugars in mixmaster until creamy and pale. Add syrup, vanilla , egg and mix lightly.
Add flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in choc chips. You can save a few and place carefully on top of bickies before putting in oven or just mix them all through.
Roll into small balls and place on 3 lined baking trays.
Bake 10 mins.
They will be soft when they come out of oven . They look pale and puffed up and brown around the edges. Leave on trays to cool for about 30 mins.
