Thoroughly cream butter and sugar; Add vanilla and eggs, mix well. Sift together dry ingredients; add alternately with sour cream, mixing well after each addition. Drop dough by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Dip bottom of a glass in water, then in sugar, and press top of each cookie to flatten. Lightly sprinkle tops of flattened cookies with sugar. Bake at 425 about 8min or until delicately browned. Makes about 6 dozen.
