MISE EN PLACE: Chop onion; Mince garlic
1) Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Cook onion until translucent. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Add a copious amount of salt.
2) After beef has browned, reduce heat to medium-low. Add tomato puree, tomato paste, and mustard; bring to a simmer.
3) Add crushed red pepper flakes, basil, parsley, and pepper. Simmer another 10 minutes.
4) Stir in garlic and simmer a few minutes more.
