Heat olive oil in sauce pan over medium heat and cook onion until lightly brown. Mix in2 cloves of garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, water, sugar, oregano, and bay leaf.
Season with salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer.
Add meatballs and cook for an hour.
