Brown ground beef and sausage, drain. Then, stir in onion, garlic, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. Cook until onions are translucent.
Stir in tomato paste and work paste into meat mixture with a wooden spoon until combined. Stir in tomato sauce, combine and cook for about fifteen minutes. Stir in crushed tomato, stewed tomatoes (cut up small), basil, sugar and pepperoni. Add fresh parmesan and heat uncovered until simmering. Cover and cook over medium-low heat for an hour or so, stirring periodically. Uncover and stir in glass of water. Recover and cook for another hour.
