Coffee for the fall / winter season.
In a slow cooker, combine the coffee, sugar, chocolate, and anise extract. Wrap cinnamon sticks and cloves in a cheesecloth, tie up to form a bag and add to slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 2 -3 hours. Serve warm or cold.
Try to avoid flavored coffees. Chose a medium / medium-bold whole bean and freshly ground coffee. Chocolate syrup can be replaced with whole chocolate but you made need to compensate for the difference in sweetness by adding more sugar to the mixture.
