Combine sugar and cornstarch in a deep, 1 quart, heat resistant non-metallic casserole. Gradually add juice from pineapple, stirring constantly. Add pineapple, cinnamon and butter. Heat, uncovered, in microwave oven 3 minutes. Stir and heat an additional four minutes or until sauce has thickened. Stir occasionally. Serve with meat or as a dessert sauce. Makes 3/4 cup.
