Suggest a better descriptionBring large pot of salted water to boil and add broccoli, cook until crisp-tender (about 2 minutes). Strain the broccoli, reserving all the cooking liquid (I place a large bowl under the colander to catch all the liquid then pour it back into the pot). Set the broccoli aside. Cook the pasta in the same pot of boiling water until tender but still firm to the bite (about 8 minutes). Drain, reserving 1 cup of the cooking liquid (i use the last of it with the broccoli parts in it).
Meanwhile, in a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat and cook sausage until brown and juices form then add garlic and red pepper flakes and saute about 1 minute. Add the broccoli and toss to coat. Add this to the pasta and stir, adding the 1 cup reserved cooking liquid to moisten. Stir the parmesan cheese, salt to taste, and pepper into the pasta mixture. Serve!
