Chop squash and onion and boil until tender then drain. Combine squash, onion, and cooked sausage in bowl with cream cheese. Stir until melted. Once combined add cream of mushroom soup (can substitue 1/2 jar of Heinz Turkey Gravy instead of soup). Crush crackers and stir into mixture until it thickens. Add salt and pepper to taste. Pour into greased casserole dish and top with shredded cheese. Bake on 375 degrees until golden brown.
If you like spicy food you can use the hot sausage instead of mild.
