Steam squash until tender. Mash with 1/4 cup butter, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, and spices. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter, add corn flakes, pecans, 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Toss until coated. In greased 2 quart casserole, layer apples and squash. Top with corn flakes. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees.
