Using squid ink makes a black sauce with slight brininess. Very unique and different.
Saute the onions and garlic for a few minutes until soft. Add the white wine and cook until wine is reduced. Add tomatoes and cook until bubbly. Add red pepper flakes if desired. Boil for 2 minutes then add ink, squid and parsley. Mix with pasta and add cheese as desired.
I buy my bags of squid ink online. Check online for cleaning instructions on squid if yours are not fully cleaned.
