Preheat 400.
Melt butter in cast iron skillet. Put skillet in oven.
Whisk wet ingredients together. Blend dry ingredients in separate bowl with fork. Mix dry batter into wet, careful not to over mix (just until no globs). Let stand 5 mins. Pour batter into skillet once butter golden brown. Bake at 400 for 15 mins.
Meanwhile, heat skillet over medium heat. Add berries, syrup & zest. Cook, leaving some berries.
Serve with berry syrup and sifted powdered sugar on top.
