Use seasonal fruits
1. Cook fruit in saucepan with sugar to sweeten.
2. Prepare batter by mixing flour, baking powder, salt, and enough milk to make a soft batter just so you can drop it from a spoon.
3. Drop dough onto lightly boiling fruit and cook until is done - about 10 minutes. Use loose-fitting pan and cover. Turn off when 10 min. bell rings.
Brown Sugar Sauce: 1 and 1/2 C brown sugar, 1/2 C water, 3 tablespoons cornstarch. Boil to thicken and then add milk to thin.
