While the dough is being made make the topping.
Add all the ingredients, except pecans, into a sauce pan. After it has come to a boil, pour into the baking dish you are going to us for Cinnamon buns. Sprinkle pecans into the sugar mixture to a desired amount.
When dough is done, put it onto a lightly floured surface
Dust with enough flour to make it easy to handle
Use floured rolling pin to roll out dough on floured surface
Roll out into rectangular shape to approximately ΒΌ inch thick
Spread butter over the top, then sprinkle sugar/cinnamon mixture
Roll up then cut into 12 equal pieces, placing them into a 9" x 13" baking pan
Cover with tea towel and leave in warm place for 30 minutes. I usually put in oven set at 150 F
Uncover, then bake at 350 F oven for 20 minutes until brown on top
When done, let sit for 10 minutes before flipping onto platter.
