Easy sticky buns using Pillsbury Hot Roll Mix
Prepare Hot Roll Mix according to package directions, up to and including resting stage (rest for 5 minutes under bowl).
Melt 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine (I like to use real butter for this part). Mix melted butter, corn syrup and brown sugar together and spread evenly in a 9 x 13 pan; set aside.
After dough has rested, press with hands into a 12 x 24 inch rectangle; dust with flour to keep from sticking to cutting board. Spread dough with remainder (1/4 cup or 1/2 stick) butter or margarine that has been softened or use soft margarine for this part. Sprinkle dough evenly with white sugar and cinnamon. Roll up dough jelly-roll style and cut into 16 even pieces. Place pieces, cut side down, evenly on brown sugar mix in pan. Place in a warm place* and allow to rise 30 minutes til doubled in size. Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 375 degrees (preheated oven). After baking immediately invert pan on serving dish. Great warm or cold.
This recipe can easily be halved; divided "rested" dough in half and use the rest of the dough for dinner rolls. Make in 9 inch pan using 1/2 stick butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup corn syrup for topping.
*Warm place (works for me) place a pan filled with boiling water in the bottom rack of your cold oven and place the pan of rolls on the top rack, close oven door, let rise 30 minutes. Remove from oven, then preheat oven 10 minutes before baking.
