Melt together 8 tablespoons of the butter, 2/3 cups of the brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of Karo syrup in a small saucepan. Bring to boil, then pour into a jelly roll pan.
Dissolve 1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) of dry yeast in 3/4 cup warm water. Add to 2 1/2 cups Bisquick. Mix well, then turn onto lightly floured board or counter. Knead 20 times. Roll into 12" x 12" square.
Mix 1/2 cup of the brown sugar with 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Brush dough with 2 tablespoons of softened butter. Sprinkle half of the sugar/cinnamon mixture on the middle 1/3 of dough. Fold 1/3 of dough over the middle, sprinkle remaining sugar/cinnamon mix on top, then fold over final 1/3 and press edge to seal.
Cut into 12 1" sections. Twist ends of each section and place in jelly roll pan. Cover with dishcloth and put pan over bowl of warm water to rise for 1 hour.
Heat oven to 400(F) degrees. Bake for 12 minutes. Cool very slightly, then cover with foil, flip over onto counter (foil down). Separate rolls, scraping extra topping onto rolls. Wrap in plastic wrap and freeze.
Put rolls on baking sheet, spread butter on top and bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
