My dear grandma's recipe--she used to toast me a piece for breakfast in her cast iron skillet.
Cream together butter, sugar, almond extract, and egg yolks.
Sift together dry ingredients, then add alternately with strawberries to creamed mix.
Beat egg whites until stiff, then fold into batter.
Line loaf pan with greased wax paper. Turn batter into pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool 15 minutes on rack, then remove from pan and continue to cool.
